Abstract
The development of digital technology in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era has had a significant impact on the legal protection of intellectual property rights. Technologies such as the internet, big data and artificial intelligence enable the use and exploitation of intellectual works by other parties without permission or without paying royalties. Some of the theories and concepts that are relevant in this study are intellectual property rights (IPR), Industrial Revolution 4.0, blockchain technology, digital business models, knowledge-based economy, and commercial law. Governments, international institutions, industry players and society as a whole must work together to develop rules and practices that are more effective in protecting intellectual property rights in the digital world.
