Abstract
This research discusses education that cannot be separated from the ideology behind it. The course of education is greatly influenced by the ideology it adheres to. The changing times that are increasingly advanced make schools as educational institutions, required to give birth to generations who can answer the needs of the community. To give birth to a quality generation, of course, it cannot be separated from the role of educational institutions and education personnel who must be qualified. The role of the principal as a supervisor is the main role carried out by the principal, as a supporter of the educational process in the school. The ideology of Islamic education in the supervision of school principals includes several basic principles that must be considered by school principals in leading and supervising Islamic education in schools. This research is a qualitative research, because the data obtained in the field is in the form of descriptions of words and descriptive expressions from the results of interviews and observations.
