Abstract

Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is an innovative approach in the field of education aimed at fostering active, creative, and engaging learning experiences for students while integrating the values of Islam into their real-life situations. This study employed a qualitative descriptive research method to explore the implementation of PjBL in enhancing students' character and religious attitudes. The research objective was to identify the impact of PjBL on PAI learning, students' character, and their religious attitudes. The study involved several classes as an experimental group, which applied PjBL in PAI instruction, and a control group using conventional teaching approaches. The results of this study indicate that the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model is an effective approach in improving students' character and religious attitudes. Full support from the school, teachers, and parents was identified as a critical factor in the successful implementation of PjBL. With proper implementation and strong support, PjBL can be a valuable educational approach to enhance students' character and religious attitudes in Islamic Religious Education.
